“Thank you JYP for making my wish come true. It was truly an unforgettable experience in my life"
-With all heart, Alyssa-
On November 24th, 2019, Alyssa had a very special and unforgettable moment in her life, because it was the day that her wish came true. Her wish was to meet Stray Kids from JYP Entertainment.
Alyssa Scott is a 15-year-old girl, living in Hawaii. She came across Stray Kids through a South Korean reality program aired in 2017. She fell in love with Stray Kids at first sight because their music touched her and she said that Stray Kids’ music and dance always made her strong. She suffered cystic fibrosis, a hereditary disease resulting in some problems with the digestive system. When she was fighting against the disease, Stray Kids’ music comforted her a lot. Alyssa’s one true wish was to meet Stray Kids, the band that comforted her while she was having tough treatment sessions. Make-A-Wish delivered Alyssa’s wish to JYP Entertainment who arranged the meeting with her favourite band.
JYP Entertainment invited Alyssa to South Korea to realise her dream. On November 24th, 2019, there was a concert for the ‘Stray Kids World Tour ‘District 9 : Unlock’ in SEOUL’ at Seoul Olympic Hall where Alyssa experienced a very special moment.
After a 3-hour-long concert and while Alyssa’s excitement was still at its peak, she finally met Stray Kids. Because of that Alyssa’s cheeks blushed and when Stray Kids arrived to meet her she screamed of happiness.
Eight members of Stray Kids welcomed Alyssa as if she was their old friend. Regardless of the tough schedules, all members took time to get to know Alyssa’s story and created a very cozy atmosphere by calling her by her name. Stray Kids’ warm welcome moved Alyssa to tears for a while.
Alyssa presented a Wish Bear written “I Love you” to Stray Kids after she shed her tears in her mother’s arms for a while. Her eyes sparkled as she was having a conversation with them, asking the band many questions. When Alyssa said that she wanted to learn some choreography, Stray Kids taught the moves of the song ‘Get Cool’ one by one.
In response to the kindness of Stray Kids, Alyssa expressed her feelings by saying “thank you” in Korean (감사합니다). After the meeting, saying ‘goodbye’ was hard. The members of Stray Kids hugged Alyssa and her parents. With a thankful heart, Alyssa’s parents hugged the members one by one and patted them on the back.
The meeting with Alyssa and Stray Kids was finished leaving feelings of joy, appreciation and warmth to Alyssa and her family.
“JYP Entertainment and Make-A-Wish presented me the best moment of my life. I would also like to thank Stray Kids for welcoming so kindly and for keeping me strong during my darkest time. I will always cherish the time I was able to spend with such an inspirational and kindhearted people"
